East Riding SACRE Art Competition15 January 2025 (by Catherine Passmore (catherine.hakner)) |
East Riding SACRE (Standing Advisory Council for Religious Education) is delighted to invite pupils from across East Yorkshire to take part in this exciting art competition.
Theme
Use a 2D media of your choice (this can include sketching, painting, collage, pencil crayon and digital art) to explore and express the theme of ‘A Time for Reflection’. Children are encouraged to think about their learning in RW during their time at DJS and produce a piece of artwork which reflects this learning. Along with each entry, pupils should provide a brief commentary about their artwork (Maximum 100 words) explaining what it represents and why they chose this. The commentary needs to be typed (an adult can type the commentary on behalf of a pupil who is unable to do this for themselves). Templates for the commentary are available from teachers. All entries (including the commentary) must be returned to school by Monday 17th March at the latest. The best 10 entries will be forwarded for judging by the SACRE panel.
Details:
- The competition is open to all pupils from all Hull and East Riding schools and academies and will be judged in the following categories – Early Years, Key Stage 1, Key Stage 2, Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.

- Winning entries will be included in a presentation book, given to each participating school and displayed at venues across the East Riding.
