Parenting Programme - Understanding Your Child
Understanding Your Child is a 10 week face to face
parenting programme which aims to promote more
effective and sensitive parenting. It is based on three
main principles of emotional containment and
reciprocity which lead to effective behaviour
management. This programme aims to help parents
identify their own goals and solutions to problems
and prioritises the relationship between the parent
and the child.
Content Includes
1. Introduction
2. How are you and your child feeling?
3. Tuning into your child's development
4. Responding to your child's feelings
5. Different styles of parenting
6.Parenting-child relationship - having fun together
7. The rhythm of interaction and sleep
8.Self-regulation and anger
9. Communication and attunement - how to react
when things go wrong
10. Celebration week

Year 4 Sound Topic
Prayer Flags
The children in Y5 have been learning about the concept of Karma and its importance in Buddhism. They designed and created their own prayer flags with positive messages which were then hung in the school garden to 'catch the wind ' so that the messages could be sent around the world.
Easter Non-Uniform Day!
The PSA are hosting a non-uniform day on Friday 6th March in exchange for an Easter egg, chocolate prize or a suggested £1 donation to help towards their PSA bingo later on in the month - further details to follow.
Donations should be handed to the class teacher in the morning.

Tesco Stronger Starts Scheme
We are still one of the projects in the Tesco Stronger Starts scheme in the Driffield store, so please keep putting your blue tokens in our slot on the way out of the shop! We would really like to buy a new play shed to store our scooters in to improve children's playtimes and improve their fitness and wellbeing.
A Busy Week in Nurture!
It's been a busy week in Nurture! The children have been starting their mornings with Danny Go! working hard on their own Rainbow animal story, learning about fire safety and finishing the week with some Rainbow Fish art.
Year 4 TT Rockstars
Year 4 have been working hard to learn their times tables. These children have been awarded golden tickets for spending extra time at home - over 30 minutes - on TT rockstars. All these children have made fantastic progress in learning their tables this year. Keep up the good work.
Bake off - The Final
A busy week for Year 5 as they put all their research into bread to the test. Would their final bakes look like their intended designs? Fabulous efforts all round as well as a few Golden Handshakes.
Lunchtime Treat!
Once again our kitchen have out-done themselves! what a wonderful dessert for the children to end the half term with. Thank you Trudy!
