Year 5 have been busy during science week learning all about balance. Yesterday, they made the most of the early Spring Weather and our outdoor learning areas to practise their balancing skills!

Science Week Dress-Up Day!

Reminder - Friday sees the end of our 'Science Week' and to mark this we are inviting pupils to come to school in science-inspired costumes. 


This week, we have hopefully inspired children with new and exciting ideas about the many jobs/roles in science. 


If your child does not wish to dress up they are welcome to come to school in non-uniform.

Young Writers "I have a dream competition"
Some children in Year 6 were set the challenge as homework to write their own poem. These have been entered into the Young Writers "I have a dream competition" and all 76 have been selected to be published in a book! Well done Year 6.

Launch of Science Week!
To launch our science week, which is all about balance, teachers of DJS reenacted 'The Man Who Walked Between The Towers' for the whole school during our assembly time. The story is based on the true events of Philippe Petit who walked across the towers in 1974 on just a tightrope with no harness.

Budgeting and Book Bistro in Year 3!

Year 3 have been learning about budgets from the Yorkshire Building Society...they were very good at keeping to a very small budget!

On World Book Day, Year 3 had a Book Bistro experience, choosing three books they would like to read in the future by candlelight!
