Final sporting event of the Year
Last Thursday night saw our Rounders team take on schools from the Driffield Cluster in our annual Rounders Tournament. In scorching hot weather, the boys and girls played games against Driffield School Year 7s, Hutton Cranswick PS and Nafferton PS.

This was our final event of the year and showed the great attitude, enthusiasm and fun that our children show when playing sport. Sport is fantastic for following rules, keeping fit and healthy and making friendships.

Thank you to these children and all the others who have represented DJS in their school life. Keep enjoying sport in the future!

Thank you to everyone who makes my job even more enjoyable.

Final Cross Country
Friday 3rd July night saw our final cross country of the year with children making the short trip to Kilham Primary School. Children were split into four races depending on gender and age. Well done to all those who took part!

However, a special mention must be given to Caissa Turner, who took part in her final cross country before she leaves us next year for Driffield School. Caissa has taken part and won nearly every cross country since she came to us in Year 3. She has taken up every opportunity she has been presented with and represented the school with great sportsmanship and skill/stamina.

Good luck to all the Year 6s but a massive thanks to all those who have taken part in cross countries and challenged themselves to improve their running skills.

The East Yorkshire Parent Carer Forum are hosting a breakfast at Cafe Lyon in Driffield on the 9 July between 10am and 12pm where there will also be an Educational Psychologist in attendance.

Founded in 2009, they are a voluntary group of parent and carers who have children and young people (0-25) with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND). Their aim is to ensure parents and carers are involved in shaping the services in the area. They do this by gathering the views of families, finding out what is important to them and then work in partnership with the local authority, educational settings, health providers and voluntary services.
