Last night , Driffield played hockey against four teams from neighbouring schools.
The team lost their first match to Burton Agnes Primary but tried hard to defend against strong attacking players. There were several attacks on the goal which were admirably defended.
They also lost their second match to Nafferton Primary who again attacked strongly. Undeterred, the team prevented a number of extra goals being scored- an excellent effort.
Determined to score the team battled on. Match three was a draw against Garton Primary School with Poppy and Riley driving the ball forward to produce a goal from Poppy early on.
The final match was lost to Leconfield , however one player was injured and so Driffield had to soldier on without their seventh team member- a valiant effort.
Driffield came fourth out of five teams.
Good sportsmanship was displayed throughout the matches - well done to all!
