Friends of the Earth did a virtual talk for the whole of Year 4 on Friday 9th July.
The children in 4G then wrote 'thank you' letters and this was the reply from Claire Gribben:
Just wanted to say thank you so much for those lovely letters, I felt quite emotional reading them as it is so heartening to see how much the children care about the environment and nature. That means so much. As I said before, we would be happy to come into the school to do something more with them once the COVID situation improves. There is a butterfly count going on at the moment- I thought it would be a great activity for the kids. Just 15 minutes counting the butterflies then recording them:https://bigbutterflycount.butterfly-conservation.org/?fbclid=IwAR1Zx0mKbwvJjsKLdD0BnzbsGCvWXTdmSvqTFL1P1LocFgjjV8j2nBVhBSgIs there a possibility of us using some of the letters in our quarterly magazine? With the names taken off? It would be such a powerful message to people to show how much the children care, and the importance of the adults listening to them.See below for the latest one: http://www.hfoe.org.uk/newsletters/2021-07.pdf
